Backcountry Snowcat Tours

A new way to experience the thrill of The Gates! NEW for 2012-13, skiers and riders can take a guided snowcat tour into Huckleberry Canyon to experience the cliff drops, cornice drops, rock chutes, open bowls, gladed runs, and powder pillows out The Gates.

NEW for 2012-13 Snowcat Tour

Starting at $79 per person, each Snowcat Tour will include a guide who will educate participants on backcountry safety and teach proper use of avalanche equipment (shovel, probe, avalanche beacon, and backpack will be provided). Lunch is also included. The Sierra snowcat can hold up to ten people or can be rented out for private tours by groups of five or more. Valid pass or lift ticket required.

The tours are appropriate for advanced skiers and snowboarders seeking a one-of-a-kind backcountry experience and will run on select days throughout the season (weather and conditions permitting) from 10am until 2pm. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 530.659.7453 x150. A minimum of four participants is required for the Snowcat Tours to run.
