SIERRA-AT-TAHOE® RESORT OPENS FOR THE SEASON
With 76 inches of all-natural snow, Sierra™ Resort will open terrain for all ability levels
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – November 22, 2010 – Thanks to a generous La Niña storm over the weekend, Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort is looking forward to the earliest opening in six years. Over six feet of snow fell at Sierra Resort, the closest major resort to Sacramento and the Bay Area, allowing winter operations to kick off in time for the holiday weekend.
Easy Rider Express, Nob Hill and Rock Garden will begin turning at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, accessing beginner, intermediate, and expert terrain and a medium-sized terrain park on Broadway. Lift tickets will be just $5 for kids, $20 for adults with all proceeds going to local sports teams.
Sierra Resort will open top to bottom on Wednesday morning. Beginner group and private lessons will be available for children and adults. Easy Street, Sierra Resort’s new beginner terrain featuring two new carpet conveyor lifts and 11 acres of sculpted Smart Terrain™, is projected to open on Thursday for ski and snowboard lessons.
With Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort’s winter getaway packages, visitors to Lake Tahoe will find it easy to pick out the best lift and lodging deal, making planning a weekend of skiing and riding a simple affair.
