Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort Extends Season Into Late April Print-version

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – April 6, 2012 –Sierra Resort is excited to extend the 2011-12 season through April 22, 2012 with full mountain operations in effect. Enjoy amazing spring events, winter snow conditions and our world-renowned terrain parks seven days a week through closing day. Thanks to late season storms that brought 140 inches of snow in March, Sierra Resort is offering skiers and riders the best conditions of the season. Acknowledging the late snowfall, Sierra Resort is excited to give guests the opportunity to enjoy more skiing and riding. Throughout the week of April 16-22, Sierra will operate Grandview, Easy Rider and West Bowl Express.

On April 23, 2012, Sierra Resort will host its Annual Customer Appreciation Day, giving guests one last chance to ski and ride before the 2012 season comes to an end.  

Skiers and riders of all ages can purchase a lift ticket for $20 on April 23, 2012. All of the proceeds raised from the day’s lift ticket sales will be donated to sponsor youth recreation and education including youth baseball, soccer, swimming, and other youth activities.  

Sierra Resort will operate a limited number of lifts from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All guests are invited to join John Rice, General Manager, and the rest of Sierra Resort’s managing team for the official “last run of the season” from the top of Grandview Express beginning at 2:00 p.m. Last call at the Sierra Pub will be at 2:45 p.m., in time for the ending of all winter operations at 3:00 p.m.

Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort hosts Customer Appreciation Day each season in order to give something back to the community that so generously supports the resort throughout the winter season. “Customer Appreciation Day is all about saying thank you. We want to show our most loyal guests that we value this community and are willing to support year round recreational opportunities for our kids,” said John Rice, General Manager of Sierra Resort.
